Our Life in the Holy Land
The Holy Land is, today, a troubled and troubling region.
This tiny sliver of land, hardly larger than Lake Winnipeg, is Holy to
the world's three great monotheisms (in order of age): Judaism,
Christianity and Islam. It should be a region of peace, spirituality
and understanding. Unfortunately it is, due to the greed and bigotry of
some religious and political fanatics, a nightmare of brutality,
cruelty, violence and hatred. Nevertheless, we consider ourselves
fortunate to have had the oportunity to live here for three years and
to gain a few
insights into the current problems and also into some of the historic
forces which have shaped our culture.
